The British Admiralty announced that the Submarine HMS Spearfish considerably overdue, must be presumed lost.

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) bombed docks, at Kiel and Wilhelmshafen, Messerschinitt factory at Augsburg, oil tanks and supply depots at Mannheim, and several aerodromes oil tanks near Bordeaux, near Brest and at Cherbourg also attacked.
