The British War office communiqué stated that British
troops were operating in conjunction with Norwegian forces.
Norwegian army command, reported that British forces were
now taking part in Oslo sector.
The British Admiralty and the War office communiqué
stated that Luftwaffe aircraft dropped many bombs over Namos
on
20 April 1940,
causing extensive damage to the town and sinking one British
trawler HMS Rutlandshire. There were no casualties to Allied
troops.
Renewed raids by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) on aerodromes
at Stavanger, were at least six Luftwaffe aircraft were destroyed,
and at Aalborg, in Denmark. One British aircraft failed to
return home.
Continued air activity reported from the Western front for
Messerschmitt
Bf 109 shot down and two others thought destroyed.
Swedish radio announced that five German planes violating
her neutrality had either been shot down or caused to make
forced landings by anti-aircraft guns.
German merchant ship Jürgen Fritzen sunk in the Baltic.
