Patrol activity, northeast of Lake Ladoga, in which Finns routed an enemy company. In Salla area, the Russians were driven back about 12 miles and were still in retreat. The Finns recaptured Kursu.

The Sound between Denmark and Sweden, frozen over.

In Moscow, 79° of frost was recorded.

British fighters went up to intercept a Luftwaffe plane, sighted over Suffolk.

It was reported that a 300 mile moat, 40 foot wide had been completed around Romania, running along her frontiers with Russia, Poland and Hungary.
