Russian advance was reported in Salla sector. Russian planes bombed Helsinki, Turku and other southern towns in Finland.

The British Royal Air Force (RAF) carried out, the greatest wartime survey flight during Friday night, reconnaissances being made over Austria, Bohemia, eastern and north west Germany. Propaganda leaflets were dropped over Vienna and Prague. All machines returned safely

A Luftwaffe Heinkel He 111 bomber was shot down of Firth of Forth.

Paris reported artillery activity, particularly West of the Vosges and east of the Moselle.

Adolf Hitler
Postpones the coming attack on the Western front, until the 20th of January, because of bad weather.
