The King, in the course of his tour of the British Expeditionary
Force (BEF) visited aircraft units and decorated flying officer

British coastal command aircraft sank a U-boat by bombing.
Another was attacked. Luftwaffe aircraft were reported off
the east coast during the proceeding night. The British Royal
Air Force (RAF) aircraft went up to intercept them. One Luftwaffe
aircraft approached the Thames estuary, and was driven off
by anti-aircraft fire.
The British cargo boat Merel was mined off the southeast coast.
The British cargo steamer Navaota was torpedoed in the Atlantic.
German naval launch mined in German minefield of Langeland.
Russia declared a blockade of the Finnish coast along the
Gulf of Bothnia.
