Events On This Day

Twelve German raids on the Western front were repulsed during the night and early morning.

There was a series of artillery action on both sides between the Moselle and the Saar.

The Dutch steamer Binnendijk bound from New York to Rotterdam, was sunk by unrecognized means in the English channel.

The Red Cross and St Johns fund for the sick and wounded reached the quarter million pound mark.

Reported that the £5,000,000 British loan to Poland was being used for war purposes by the Polish government recently established in France.
