France decided to take measures of reprisals against German breach of International Marine law similar to those announced by the British government.

Six Luftwaffe aircraft made a bombing attack on the Shetlands. A British Royal Air Force (RAF) seaplane, lying in its moorings was set on fire. No British casualties. Luftwaffe aircraft appeared during the day over the East Coast and Thames estuary. One raider driven almost on to housetops by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) fighters.

During Wednesday night, Luftwaffe aircraft approached southeast coast, one shot down over the sea by anti-aircraft fire.

Six Luftwaffe aircraft shot down by Allied aircraft over French territory, including three Messerschmitt Bf 109. Another Messerschmitt Bf 109 was shot down by anti-aircraft guns.

The British air ministry announced that British Royal Air Force (RAF) aircraft made a successful flights on Monday and Tuesday over Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Bremen.

The Italian steamer Fianona was struck by a mine during Tuesday night of southeast coast of England, but did not sink.

Paris and announced that two U-boats had been sunk by French torpedo boat.

The British Admiralty announced that German freighter Bertha Fisser, which had been masquerading as Emden I and also as a Norwegian ship Ada, had been intercepted near Iceland. Her crew tried to scuttle her, the ship ran on to the rocks, and I crew were picked up by the intercepting warship.
