Events On This Day

The small Polish Garrison at Hela Peninsula north of Danzig finally surrender.

The French command reported an advance on a mile long front West of Saarlouis. There were fierce bearing engagements between the French, British and German forces

Count Ciano in Berlin. The Italian Foreign Minister had interviews with Joachim von Ribbentrop and Adolf Hitler.

In Great Britain a Royal proclamation calling up all men over 20 years of age and under 22 was made.

M Sarajoglu Turkish Foreign Minister had an interview with Molotov in Moscow.
