Finns alleged to have recaptured Salla. They will also successful in heavy fighting north of Lake Ladoga.

The British cruisers HMS Exeter, HMS Ajax, and HMS Achilles, attacked the German pocket battleship Graf Spee in the South Atlantic HMS Exeter received damage and fell out. The other cruisers continued the fight, the Kriegsmarine ship was hit repeatedly in Montevideo harbour.

The British air ministry announced that two aircraft of coastal command attacked two Dornier flying boats over the North sea and damage them. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) fighters went up to intercept Luftwaffe raiders of the east coast of Scotland.

It was reported that a U-boat was sunk and an German cruiser torpedoed by British submarine that sighted the German liner Bremen during her voyage from Murmansk.

The British air Ministry disclosed that British Royal Air Force (RAF) security patrols maintained a dusk to dawn watch over Luftwaffe. Mine laying aircraft bases in Heligoland Bight.

German rates and patrols increased on the Western front, but were all repulsed by the French.

The League of Nations assembly adopted a resolution condemning Russian aggression and calling on the league members to help Finland.

The House of Commons held secret sittings to debate questions concerning supply.

The German liner New York reached Hamburg from Murmansk.
