Friedrich Götting was born on 7 February 1886 in Berlin,
in Germany and was a serving member of the Kriegsmarine during
World War II and managed to attain the rank of Vizeadmiral
and went on to command the following S167, S53, V73, U-97,
U-93, U-100 and
Schleswig
Holstein
Friedrich Götting joined Kaiserliche Marine as a Seekadett
on 1 April 1903 and went to the naval school in Mürwik
and continued his training on board training ship Stein during
this time, he was promoted to the rank of Fähnrich zur See.
Friedrich Götting first command was the torpedo boat
S167 on 15 March 1914 until 16 December 1915. He was then
transferred to the torpedo boat S53 on 17 December 1915 until
September 1917 two years later, he was transferred to the
torpedo boat V73 on September 1917 until December 1917. Friedrich
Götting then went on to command several U-boats the first
being U-97 on 21 April 1918 until 17 June 1918 he was then
transferred to U-93 and also commanded U-100 at the same time
on 18 June 1918 until 11 December 1918.
