9 to 10 February 1940 The destroyer Hermann Schoemann carries
out mine laying operations along with the destroyers Max Schulz, Wilhlem Heidkamp,
Richard Beitzen, Theodor Riedel and Friedrich Eckold.
17 to 18 April
1940 The destroyer Hermann Schoemann carries out mine laying operations
in the North Sea along with the destroyers Bruno Heinemann and Richard Beitzen.

and Bruno Heinemann. During the journey Bruno Heinemann is struck by two mines
and is lost.
2 May 1942 The destroyer Herman Schoemann attacked
the British cruiser HMS Edinburgh along with Z24 and Z25 whilst she was under
tow to Kola Fjord. During this action the destroyer Herman Schoemann was sunk.
