Russian Front, Fighting fiercest around Leningrad and west of Staraya Russa.

In the Mediterranean, Heavy air attacks on shipping in the Grand Harbour at Malta.

Far East, Japanese forces advanced along the Markham valley of New Guinea from Lae. Port Moresby raided by Japanese bombers. In Burma, Chinese cavalry indicted considerable casualties on a mixed enemy force.

Luftwaffe bombs dropped after dark by enemy bombers in South West England.

Army Air Forces Plan for Initiation of United States Army Bombardment Operations in the British Isles further elaborates previous Army Air Forces
plans outlining intention of launching strategic bombardment from United Kingdom against facilities supporting German national, economic, and industrial structure.

Army Air Force in Britain (AAFIB) Report submitted by General Eaker in compliance with General Chaney's instructions of 25 February 1942 indicates completion of studies of The British Royal Air Force (RAF) Bomber Command operations and of airfields, training, tactical doctrine, equipment, and methods of conducting air offensive in cooperation with The British Royal Air Force (RAF). Report also indicates much dependence upon British for the present but emphases the apparent compatibility of the tactical doctrines of the United States (daylight precision bombing) and The British Royal Air Force (RAF) (night area bombing), and implies the principle of coordinating these attacks to complement each other.
