Gustav Altmann was born in Britz, district of Eberswalde Germany in 13 April 1912. Gustav Altmann joined the Luftwaffe and then transferred to the Fallschirmjäger which was an elite military organisation of parachutists. Gustav took part in the famous battle of Fort Eben-Emael and also the battle of Crete.
